Most Important In Life
Svenska Handelsbanken
Some days are better than others, and then you have a day like today. God is in control and although our book is important to us, it is just a book after all. God reminds us that life on this earth is not meant for us, and sometimes, when we least expect it, God calls someone we love home. Daryl's brother was called home to be with the Lord today. Our prayers and thoughts are with them.
Daryl, with D&R Press is our printer. On Sunday, Daryl gave us a printout of our book cover, back cover, and a the first part of the book (all the way through the first chapter). Artwork always looks great on the computer, but how it translates to print on paper is the biggest thing. Although our artwork for the cover looked really good on the computer, the picture inside the logo did not print as sharp as we had hoped. Second, the stars in the background of the sky looked to be like dried raindrops when printed on paper. Not something we wanted to take to print as the first book in our series.
After seeing this, we took our time and made a new cover. The key ingredients were there, we just had to fine tune the background and find a new picture for the middle of the logo. However, that is not what took the most time.
Daryl is not just our printer. He is a neighbor and friend. In fact, he lives right next door to Jeremy Mortimer in our book. Daryl is looking out for us all the way around. A small print company, but he is working with us to make sure we get the best product without getting overcharged like some other print companies. Anyway, because he knows this is a series, Daryl wanted a rough page count for books two and three. I finished that today and decided to call Daryl and let him know. That is when I heard.
For now, Svenska Handelsbanken is not important. In time, it will resume it's progress. We are in the final stages and once it is resumed, it should move along fairly quickly. At least, I hope so.
Thank you again for reading. Looking forward to getting Svenska out before Christmas, but remember, GFN (God first, Family second, Nothing else matters). Please pray for the Ransom family. May Christ bless them during this difficult time.
